Lessons with Colleen Kelly

Most riders have difficulties sitting big trots, looking down, heels up, beginners falling in on the circle or advanced riders losing balance in the pirouette, losing jumping position or crooked tempis.

Working with endurance riders, polocrosse players, vaulters, Grand Prix dressage riders & Olympic level eventers, combined with a background in exercise physiology and biomechanics, Colleen Kelly is considered a world expert in seat, posture & balance.  However, Colleen still loves working with children, paralympians & disabled riders.  Nervous riders a specialty!

 Minimum number

A minimum number of 7 lessons per day apply to most events, however please contact us if you are struggling for numbers as we have big mailing lists in most areas.

A nice number to aim for is 40 people at the evening event, and 40 at the morning club donated fundraiser.  However, the more people you have, the more money your club will raise.  However, email us if you're struggling and we can help you with promotion.   See also:  how to promote your event

 Video Filming

We film nearly all clinics so riders can have a record of their riding to refer back to and to compare for years to come.  It's also highly important that you get to see what we see, being filmed from the side, front and the back to analyse and improve asymmetries in the rider's body.   We also film with understanding and sensitivity to personal issues.   As we are working on private & personal rider issues, it is requested you DO NOT FILM OTHER RIDERS.

The full video of the clinic will include:

The evening theory lecture.  2.5 hours of invaluable theory, techniques and information.  Suitable for younger riders, coaches and judges & a mandatory pre-requisite for the teacher training course.  If the club is unable to arrange this event, a copy of a recent lecture at another venue will be included.

The morning demonstration.  See how riders affect engagement, on the forehand, crookedness, flexion & bend. How to test jumping position & if riders are in front of the movement, behind, or sideways. Amazing techniques for shoulder in & half pass - even for beginners!  How to stop a bolting dangerous horse (or control the pirouette!).  Teaching emergency dismounts.  If the venue is unable to arrange any part of this event, a copy of a recent demo from another venue will be included.

ALL lessons at your clinic.  Not only can you learn from your lesson, but you can learn greatly by watching others as well.  Especially helpful if you cannot stay for the entire weekend.

Cost of Purchasing VideoThe full video is normally around 15 hrs of wonderful techniques & info - all for the cost just a 1 hr  lesson ($140)!
If a rider wants a copy of their lesson only, it is only $25.
